Let's start with pronunciation.  "Doxallo"  -  DOX - uh - loe

Now, what does it mean?

Well, thats a bit harder to explain. It's a new word, a blending of words or ideas, into something that holds meaning for me. It begins with Doxa which is Greek for glory. The second half 'llo' is a shortening of " Mr Cellophane"  from a song by the same name in the film Chicago. (Mr Cellophane felt invisible, 'hidden'). To me, the marriage of these concepts is captured and expressed in the word Doxallo and comes to mean 'Hidden Glory'. I like to think I approach life looking for the hidden glory in all things. From humankind, to the seemingly insignificant and mundane of everyday life, and in the materials used in each piece of jewelry that I create. I truly believe there is glory there, in all things, if we but have the eyes, and the heart, to look for it.

About the name
I live on the east coast, USA and am mom to two beautiful children. My full time job is in clinical research and I enjoy cooking, and reading, church, and spending time with family.....when I'm not hunkered over my jewelry bench!

The wire jewelry kit that started it all had actually been given to my daughter and after collecting dust for a couple of years, I pulled the kit out one night. I bent and twirled and half heartedly looked at the book. *PFFT!* Not for me, I thought. Back under the sofa the box went. *smile* Sometime later, during a bout of Spring Cleaning (yes, its a formal event - it deserves capitalization!) I rediscovered the box. I once again began twisting and turning and gained some sort of satisfaction from it. Being the internet hound that I am, I went online to see what I could learn. THAT is where the real journey began!

I was blessed to find some wonderful sites hosted by very generous artists who were very free with their advice, time, and talents. I quickly discovered that I had a real 'need' to create. Unbeknownst to me, I needed a creative outlet! (I have since come to beleive that we all need one) And I am positive that I have found mine!

I quickly went to precious metals and gemstones and have since incorporated a wide range of materials into my work. I am pleased to have turned this need to create into a part time business and hope you enjoy the fruits of my creative labors. :)

About Doxallo Designs

It all began with a basic wire jewelry kit from my good friend Brenda. What it quickly turned into was a passion bordering upon obsession! ;-)

After practicing and learning for almost two years, Doxallo Designs was launched. My goal is to create quality jewelry borne out of a God given desire to 'express and create' - not necessarily to follow trends or simply sell jewelry, but to follow that inner creative voice. With the creation of Doxallo Designs, I can share those creations with others.

Doxallo Designs strives to be a company people can feel confident doing business with. I stand behind my work and am always happy to answer any questions.
