I live on the east coast, USA and am mom to two beautiful children. My full time job is in clinical research and I enjoy cooking, and reading, church, and spending time with family.....when I'm not hunkered over my jewelry bench!

I stumlbed into meatlsmithing although I've always had a creative streak. After beginning with wire I quickly progressed into sheet metals, working with cold connections and beads until I learned to solder in April of 2004. Soldering opened up a whole new world of creating for me.

I now incorporate a wide range of materials into my work. I am constantly seeking to learn - to improve my skills, broaden my knowledge base, and branch out into new areas. I have recently begun enamelling and angle raising and hope to have new work to share very soon.

I am pleased to have turned this hobby into a part time business and hope you enjoy the fruits of my creative labors.

About Doxallo Designs

How it began:

It all began with a basic wire jewelry kit from my good friend Brenda. What it quickly turned into was a passion bordering upon obsession! ;-)

About the Name:

Let's start with pronunciation.  "Doxallo"  -  DOX - uh - loe

What does it mean?

In short - It's a new word. A blending of words or ideas, into something that holds meaning for me. It begins with Doxa which is Greek for glory. The second half 'llo' is a shortening of " Mr Cellophane"  from a song by the same name in the film Chicago. (Mr Cellophane felt invisible, 'hidden'). To me, the marriage of these concepts is captured and expressed in the word Doxallo and comes to mean 'Hidden Glory'.

I try to approach life looking for the hidden glory in all things. From humankind, to the seemingly insignificant and mundane of everyday life, and in the materials used in each piece of jewelry that I create.

The Art:

My goal is to create quality jewelry borne out of a God given desire to 'express and create' - not necessarily to follow trends or simply sell jewelry, but to follow that inner creative voice. With the creation of Doxallo Designs, I can share those creations with others.

Doxallo Designs strives to be a company people can feel confident doing business with. I stand behind my work and am always happy to answer any questions.
